    Issue: City of Phoenix voters:
Hello horse and outdoor enthusiasts, as you may know the city of Phoenix voters overwhelmingly passed a mandate to continue funding the acquisition and continued improvement of our parks in the City of Phoenix.

There are 10 hearings that you may want to attend.  For a list of hearings see http://www.phoenix.gov/newsrel/2006ppinput.html. If you cannot make these hearings please take the on line survey at http://www.phoenix.gov/parks/ .....  the right side of the web site is "related links' and the second one is "park funding survey".

You can indicate how you want the tax monies spent.  At #2 you can actually write in your own preference. I wrote in "horse trailer parking at Pima Canyon South Mountain".  As horse people we need to maintain a continued presence with the City to preserve the cowboy way of life.

Issue: Special use permit is being required of an individual for using his arena for Team Penning because of a complaint from one neighbor that lives 1/2 mile from the arena

There is a meeting down at the County Board of Supervisors Auditorium

August 22nd, Wednesday morning,
9 AM
205 West Jefferson, Phoenix.

This is an appeal to the hearing that was heard a few weeks ago. Nena Henry will be there representing the Farm Bureau, Ed O’Brien VP ASHA, Chip Wilson President ASHA and Jean Anderson Director of Communications ASHA will be there
and lots of people from the New River area will also be there.

“When one member of the horse community is threatened, we are all threatened!”

If you can come, it would be appreciated.
